Our History
Established in February 2006, Santiago & Amboulos Advogados was founded by
attorneys Giovani Henrique Santiago and Antonio Amboulos. Mr. Santiago and Mr. Amboulos began their legal career together as classmates at Universidade Candido Mendes – Ipanema, one of the most prestigious University School of Law
in Rio de Janeiro. Mr. Santiago worked as a trainee dealing with Corporate Law in
the Legal Department of a huge American company which had entered a contract
into between the Brazilian government for the surveillance of the Amazon region. Immediately upon graduating in 2002, Mr. Santiago accepted position in the Infrastructure Section of Bastos Tigre, Coelho da Rocha e Lopes Advogados, a large, internationally recognized law firm.
In 2006, Mr. Santiago left Bastos Tigre,
Coelho da Rocha e Lopes Advogados, to open Santiago & Amboulos Advogados, primarily representing in Brazil the interests of the American company which had entered into a contract with the Brazilian government, among other minor domestic companies. Following a successful career as "big firm" lawyer, Mr. Santiago pursued his goalof starting his own law firm by forming Santiago & Amboulos Advogados. Located in Mr. Santiago´s hometown of Rio de Janeiro, allowed Mr. Santiago and Mr.Amboulos to pursue personal goals and explore new professional challenges. Both attorneys recognize what is needed to satisfy, maintain and develop clients, andhow to succeed in providing the best possible legal representation for their clients.
As the two most senior Litigation partners, Mr. Santiago and Mr. Amboulos, each
personally supervised and managed dozens of high-profile cases for a multitude
of both domestic and international clients, ranging in value from several thousand to millions of dollars.
Now, almost two decades later, Santiago & Amboulos Advogados continues to
thrive by providing clients the quality legal representation one would expect from
a large firm, while offering clients the accessibility, one-on-one attention, and
support that a small-firm environment affords.
